The URPP “Human Reproduction Reloaded” is delighted to announce the interdisciplinary workshop on ‘Men, Masculinities and Reproduction’. The workshop aims to explore the often absent and under-researched roles and perspectives of men in reproduction and related expressions of masculinities. Therefore, bringing together researchers from diverse fields – including law, public health, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, and psychology – the event seeks to promote a multidisciplinary dialogue on the social realities of male reproduction in light of the latest medical developments and the broader opportunities and challenges that men face in the spheres of reproduction and care. Topics of discussion will include gendered experiences of fatherhood, parenting and care work, fertility, contraception, child loss, and queer and alternative family formation.
