Call for abstract SwissRepro 2026 Conference
This conference is the second edition of the event organised by SwissRepro, the leading research network for reproductive studies in Switzerland. This event will be held on the 8th of May 2026, at the University of Geneva, and will present current research conducted in Switzerland on reproduction in social sciences and humanities. A keynote will be given by Ezter Kismödi, international human rights lawyer on sexual and reproductive health law, policy and research (Yale University and editor-in-chief of Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters).
Studies on reproductive and sexual health and rights are a rapidly growing field of research that examines the social, cultural, political, legal and economic dimensions of reproductive and sexual health and their intersection with gender, class and race. Until now, dialogue across linguistic regions in Switzerland has been limited. The overall aim of the conference is to create an opportunity for researchers from different disciplines within the humanities and social sciences and from various linguistic regions to meet, exchange ideas, network, and raise the profile of the SwissRepro network, launched in 2024.
The specific objectives of this edition of SwissRepro conference are as follows:
- Reflect on the backlash against reproductive and sexual health rights globally.
- Present ongoing research projects in Switzerland on sexual and reproductive health and rights through short presentations and other formats.
- Bring together the SwissRepro research network.
This conference will be an opportunity for Swiss-based researchers to present their latest research project and/or to give a follow-up on the research presented last year.
We invite contributions from all researchers (Phd candidates, postdocs, professors, etc.) working on reproductive and sexual health. Applications are welcome from researchers based at Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences. If you are based abroad but have strong links with Swiss academia (e.g., on academic mobility abroad), please feel free to apply as well.
To submit an abstract (250 words), please fill out the online form by 20 January 2026.
