Bernhard Magerl, MA Molecular Biotechnology

  • PhD Candidate
  • SP 4 CRISPR Technology in Human Reproduction

Bernhard Magerl is a PhD candidate  in the URPP Human Reproduction Reloaded H2R, sub-project 4 CRISPR Technology in Human Reproduction at the University of Zurich.

Bernhard's research delves into the root cause and effects of aneuploidy during early embryogenesis. To accomplish this, he leverages Light-sheet microscopy to capture live images of fluorescent embryos and employs machine-learning algorithms to unravel developmental pathways. In parallel, he combines these methods with genome editing to implement new approaches to study development using live microscopy.
