Davide Battisti is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics and History of Medicine and the URPP Human Reproduction Reloaded, sub-project 4 CRISPR Technology in Human Reproduction, at the University of Zurich.
His research interests lie at the intersection of applied ethics, bioethics, and moral philosophy, with a particular focus on reproductive ethics, procreative responsibility, and the ethics of germline genome editing. He has also published in the fields of AI ethics, public ethics, and the allocation of scarce healthcare resources.
His work has appeared in leading journals such as Bioethics, Journal of Medical Ethics, American Journal of Bioethics, Medicine Health Care and Philosophy, Ethics & Human Research, Nature Medicine, AI & Society and Philosophy and Technology. In 2024, his monograph Procreative Responsibility and Assisted Reproductive Technologies was published by Routledge (Routledge Research in Applied Ethics).
Education
Work and Research Experience
In addition to his academic work, Davide Battisti is the founder and scientific director of Trentino 2060, a cultural and public-engagement festival held annually in Northern Italy, aimed at fostering critical reflection on contemporary social, political, and technological challenges.
