Am 18. November findet im Rahmen der langen Nacht der Philosophie Zürich ein virtuelles Podium inklusive Filmstream statt mit dem Thema 'Zur Organisation der Reproduktion - ein philosophisches Gespräch'.
Am 28. Oktober 2021 findet in Bern die öffentliche Tagung «Reproduktionsmedizin und die Zukunft der Familie» aus Anlass des 20-jährigen Bestehens der Nationalen Ethikkommission im Bereich der Humanmedizin (NEK) statt.

On 13 September 2021 from 14.45 (Swiss time), H2R post-doc Elena Brodeala will give a talk at the Symposium “Child's Right to Identity in Assisted Reproductive Technology”. She will speak about the H2R project and the ongoing research regarding people conceived through Assisted Reproduction Technology.

Marie-Hélène Spiess, scientific associate at the H2R Empirical and Normative Knowledge and Data Centre and post-doc Elena Brodeala (sub-project 1) have participated at the forum “Empowerment and Backlash: Gender as an Axis of Constitutional Contestation” that took place on 6 July 2021 at the Annual Conference of the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S).The forum was convened by Prof. Ruth Rubio Marín (University of Sevilla/European University Institute), Prof. Reva Siegel (Yale Law School) and Prof. Mara Malagodi (The Chinese University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law) and discussed recent developments and attacks on gender equality (including abortion and other reproductive rights) around the globe. Fiona’s research interests include the regulation of human reproduction, legal gender studies as well as history and theory of law. Her PhD project is concerned with the legal conception of parenthood and its interaction with reproductive medicine.
We are very pleased that the kick-off event of the Citizen Advisory Panel could take place on 25 June. 17 citizen scientists took part in the exciting programme. They learned more about our project, which investigates new ways of reproduction and their social and legal significance, and exchanged views on the topic in various talks and workshops offered by Julia Schroedter & Klaus Haberkern, Elena Brodeala & Marie-Hélène Spiess and Daniel Drewniak. The Citizen Advisory Panel will accompany the entire research process of the URPP H2R. Thanks to all participants and members of the URPP H2R!
Der Sammelband "The Grand International Challenges. Theologisch-ethische Perspektiven" beschäftigt sich mit globalen Herausforderungen, wie dem Klimawandel, der Geschlechtergerechtigkeit oder der Nachhaltigkeit aus einer theologisch-ethischen Perspektive. Michael Coors vom UFSP H2R hat im Sammelband einen Beitrag über den genetischen Keimbahneingriff bei Menschen geschrieben.
H2R post-doc Elena Brodeala (SP 1) and PhD researcher Julian Werner März from the PhD Program “Biomedical Ethics and Law” of the University of Zurich will teach a course on “Gender, Family Diversity and Reproductive Autonomy in a Globalized World” at Sciences Po in France in the fall semester of the academic year 2021/2022.
Wir freuen uns sehr, auf einen aktuellen Dokumentarfilm hinzuweisen zu können, in dem zahlreiche Fragen, mit denen wir uns im UFSP "Human Reproduction Reloaded | H2R" auseinandersetzen, behandelt werden. Marina Belobrovaja, die Filmemacherin und Protagonistin, ist zudem ein Mitglied des Citizen Advisory Panels, was uns ganz besonders freut!

Das Seminar "Humangenetik und Recht" richtet sich an Bachelor- und Masterstudierende der Universität Zürich. Es wird von Prof. Andrea Büchler in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Markus Zimmermann von der Universität Freiburg durchgeführt.
Eine neue Methode der Gen-Editierung kann einzelne Bausteine einer DNA-Sequenz sehr präzise verändern. Mit einer solchen Punktmutation gelang es einem internationalen Forschungsteam unter Leitung der Universität Zürich, hohe Cholesterinwerte im Blut von zwei Tiermodellen dauerhaft zu senken. Dies eröffnet die Möglichkeit, Patienten mit vererbten Stoffwechselkrankheiten künftig zu heilen.
As part of the Legal Justice Day of the organization Feministisch.Ius Elena Brodeala gave a lecture on “Gender Backlash in Central and Eastern Europe: a Case Study on Romania” focusing on anti-gender discourses and movements, which also affect legal institutions.
The first two judgements on pregnancy discrimination by the European Court of Human Rights have been delivered. Elena Brodeala, postdoc at the URPP H2R, compares the two judgements in an article by the University Oxford and highlights their inconsistencies.
We are really pleased to welcome the 26 participants of the Citizen Advisory Panel of the URPP H2R. The first meeting will take place on June, 25.

Digitale Religionen, Chancengleichheit, menschliche Reproduktion, seltene Krankheiten und Grundlagen des Lernens.
Jedes zehnte Paar bekommt auf natürlichem Wege kein Kind. Bis 1978 liess sich dagegen nichts tun. Heute gehört In-vitro-Fertilisation zum medizinischen Alltag. Acht Millionen Babys sind bis 2018 auf diese Weise zur Welt gekommen. Seitdem hat sich die Fortpflanzungsmedizin rasant entwickelt: Spermieninjektion, Kryokonservierung, Präimplantationsdiagnostik, Eizellenspende, Leihmutterschaft, Uterustransplantation sind hinzugekommen.
