New PhD Candidates

Welcome Sabine Stettler and Melanie Dössegger, who joined the URPP H2R as PhD candidates in the sub-project 1 Normativity of Human Reproduction, a warm welcome!

Sabine focuses on the history of the unborn, medival theories about conception and the theory of symmetric anthropology. In her current research, she discusses the embryo as a cultural and historical concept by focusing on scholastic writings, especially Albertus Magnus and Thomas Aquinas.

Melanie’s research interests include biomedical ethics, consumer- and climate ethics, philosophy of social science and economic ethics. Her PhD project focuses on the ethical aspects of human genome editing.
